Just so you know, the next few days will be busy for me personally. Starting tonight, I will be covering the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event in the Battlefords, the Meridian Canadian Open, which will be shown on Sportsnet across Canada.
My plan is to file daily reports for our newspaper’s website, and also try and post periodic updates on Twitter. Unfortunately, there are going to be times when I have to step out of the arena to cover other news, which will be the case tomorrow when I have to be in court yet again. So that will cut into my Twitter coverage of the curling proceedings quite a bit during the day. (UPDATE: my court story is now up.)
Also, the other thing happening tonight is that Pres. Donald Trump is having his big nationally-televised address, in which he will no doubt give his spiel about the “national emergency” at that nation’s southern border, and perhaps outline any plans he might have to end the US government shutdown.
Sadly for me, I will be missing out on all the political nonsense which will be pre-empting your favorite shows on TV tonight. Or maybe it’s not so sad after all. No doubt, this is a particularly good night to be on assignment.
