Yikes! A scary tornado situation for Ottawa-Gatineau region!

If you think what has gone on in the Carolinas is scary enough, check out what happened with the weather in eastern Canada today.

What is now being estimated as a preliminary EF-2 tornado hit the Ottawa area today, with the city of Gatineau across the border in Quebec very hard hit. This is not a part of the country where anyone expects a serious tornado to hit, and you definitely do not expect it to hit this late in the year.

But I guess this is a weird year for weather. For more proof of that, it snowed today in my area — exactly three months and one day before winter is supposed to begin.
