Just a reminder to myself that finally, at long last, Iowa voters weigh in tomorrow on who they want to see as President.
The Iowa Caucuses go tomorrow, Monday, and folks down in the Hawkeye State must be thrilled, because finally they will be done with these political jokers — for a while, anyway.
Final polls are showing Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump moving into the lead there, with Ted Cruz increasingly losing steam because of his stance on ethanol. Still, polls around the world are increasingly not worthy of the attention the media gives them. The only poll that counts is the one tomorrow.
And it would not surprise me one bit if Iowa produces some immediate casualties. My guess is both former Iowa winners Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum will be done as of tomorrow. You would think a bad showing would also finish Jeb Bush, but I think he will stay on until New Hampshire no matter what, simply because of the insane amount of money his campaign’s already wasted on television ads in that state.
(Oh, and for those who don’t know or aren’t Big 10 football fans, pictured above is the logo for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. I felt like putting that up because, well, it’s better-looking than the Iowa State Cyclones’ logo.)
