I am now at home watching all the news about the situation in Ottawa. Prime Minister Stephen Harper is slated to speak to the country in a few minutes.
Sadly, the reservist standing guard at the National War Memorial today was killed. The shooter was also killed, and sergeant-at-arms is being hailed as a hero for his actions. Parliament itself is still in lockdown. The situation continues to be described as “fluid”.
Meanwhile, in NHL news tonight’s Ottawa-Toronto game has been cancelled. No one in Canada cares about hockey today.
I’ll keep you posted if something more develops on this story.
